WearDance is a brand new creative cross-border collaboration that combines fashion and ballet. Joining fashion designers, choreographers and professional dancers, the team has been inspired by the unlimited cross-border creativity in the production process from dance concept to fashion design. The event is organized by Hong Kong Ballet and sponsored by Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The collaboration kicks off in Hong Kong’s landmarks with Fashion/dance parades. WearDance includes a series of activities, namely Fashion x Ballet Performances, Fashion on the Move Exhibition, Fashion Talks, and Costume Design and Making Workshop, to engage the community and open up a wide range of possibilities of Fashion/Ballet. Nine famous choreographers and six groups of local new talented fashion designers join hands to present stylish ballet performances and costumes to the public.

Fashion on the Move Exhibition
Fashion on the Move Exhibition explores the correlation between fashion and ballet through a suite visual computing, argument reality, kinectic interaction with body movement detection, sound design and motion graphic, combined with the display of the costumes. An algorithmic multimedia exhibition explores the intimacy between digital transformation and the natural body form of art, which will illuminate our creative process in engaging ways.
